The Weeknd, que levou três American Music Awards para casa em 2020, não teve seu nome em nenhuma categoria. Junto dele, Miley Cyrus e BLACKPINK. O queridinho do momento Harry Styles disputa sua primeira indicação ao prêmio em três categorias: Melhor Clipe, Melhor Álbum de Pop Vocal e Melhor Performance Pop Solo.
